Will's World 02 04 2010

Me seeing what it's like in (or near) the director's chair.

While wandering down Ocean Avenue in Seal Beach, I saw a guy sitting and sketching outside of Bogart’s Coffee Shop. I stopped to chat and he told me he was a director and he was mapping out a scene that a film crew would be working on in a few hours.

As actors, stuntmen, cameramen, and many others began to gather on the street, it became apparent that the guy was Matt Earl Beesley, director for the television series “Miami Medical,” which will be aired soon. And since I was on the set early, I decided to hang around and take some photos of Beesley at work. These film crew people seemed to be having a very good time: a lot of smiling; plenty of catered food; few time to enjoy the sunshine; and definitely no heavy lifting. I wonder how I can get a job like this?
